SERDANG - August 24, the GEMA NIRMALA choir team (a combination of Residential College, TNC HEPA Office and BHEP) won the Championship in the Inter PTJ Independence Choir Competition in conjunction with the 2023 Semarak Merdeka Program which was held at the Trial Stage, UPM with the song 'Setangkai Mawar'.

A total of 20 choir teams from various PTJs at UPM participated in this competition and gave an interesting and creative performance according to the theme of 'Malaysia Madani'.

The song 'Setangkai Mawar' which was performed by the group GEMA NIRMALA is an original creation and lyrics by Hj. Mahzan Manan, song composition by Yeo Chow Shern and song arrangement by Haziq Ahmad, Haikal Shariff and Fikri Hassan.
